History of Sick Pup Videos
For those with terminal curiosity or nothing better to do, this is what Sick Pup Videos is all about: me. And me. And me. Because Sick Pup Videos is literally a one man show. The videos are stupid and I am dying. Is that enough to sustain its own joke?
Sick Pup Videos was conceived for the purpose of having a production company credit line in a stupid video series. So for years it existed in name only. The show I was making at the time was Thomas the Tanked Engine. It was not a particularly original spoof name for the beloved kids show; it would have been a challenge coming up with something original since there must have been many hundreds of spoofs around at the time. So I took the attitude of, does it really matter, who watches this crap anyway? For me, the show was just a silly space-waster for an online model train discussion group.
Sick Pup eventually became more "real" when I began producing animated shows, the first of which was Dicks Retirement Trailer Park. Before I took Sick Pup "public," I actually did some research, and to my surprise found that nobody called themselves Sick Pup Videos.
So I went all out and, circa May 2023, created a logo and a website. The only thing I didn't bother doing was making it a legit LLC; I simply could not justify the money involved. But it has a Catalog of Titles that continues growing today, if that counts for anything.
Oh, and how did I come up with the name, Sick Pup? It was a frequent reaction after seeing some of my earliest videos. "You're a sick pup, dude." It was said often enough that I figured I may as well own it.
