It goes without saying that I love cats. Indeed, I prefer them to humans. I have two friends who don't own pets; they say they can't stand losing them. I prefer to quote Alfred Lord Tennyson: "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." Which is to say, I've always had cats, whenever practical, and I'll continue to have them right up to the bitter end.
