Snow White

While on vacation in New Hampshire, I took ill with a horrible stomach virus. With my father watching over me, my mother went to a nearby
fair where she found a cardboard box marked "free kittens." She reached in and grabbed one, and brought it back to cheer me up. Admittedly an
unimaginative name, it's obvious how she got it: she was pure white. Hey, I was only four!
Snow White grew to become a rather chubby lady who loved to bask in the sun. Taken around 1972, the above photo shows her reclining in her favorite spot at our New
Hampshire cabin—we'd take the cats with us while vacationing there (also see Ebony). My favorite memory of her is how she'd sleep under the
covers with me. I always wondered how she breathed... She lived a comfortable, happy twenty years.
